Description of the Organization
Ram is a small electronics manufacturing and design company in Fruitport, Michigan. Ram offers many services including PCB assembly manufacturing of existing designs as well as product engineering design of concepts.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
This semester I worked on a number of products that Ram is currently designing for different clients. These include an IoT backup pump system, a capacitive touch desk lamp, and a number of power supply products.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
This experience strengthened my skill in embedded system design, c programming, circuit analysis, PCB design, as well as product prototyping and testing.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I enjoyed a lot about this experience though my favorite part was likely the design of tests. Writing test firmware and building test rigs to efficiently test a system is a challenge that I really enjoy.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
I am very hopeful that my future career involves embedded system designs so that I can further my skills in that area.
