Description of the Organization
I assist in administrating the youth baseball league, middle school baseball league, youth and middle school boys and girls basketball, boys and girls middle school swim and dive, youth and middle school football, adult softball, and special events like the Reeds Lake Run and Rhoades McKee Tri
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I helped schedule, create teams, inputting eligibility, equipment maintenance, and running day to day/gameday operations for all home games for middle school. I also worked on budgets, designing and ordering new jerseys, organizing a postseason tournament for adult softball, supporting coaches, and much more.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Time management, excel, league management, gameday operations, civic rec online system, ins and outs of Skyward, coach management, end of year budgets, working with other schools/leagues.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part is the people I work with. Oftentimes working longs days can feel like a drag and make you not want to go into the office but i find myself excited to go to work everyday and interact with my co-workers. If you have ever seen the TV show Parks and Rec its a lot like that.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
Prior to working here I never thought about working in local government, but being here has shown me the benefit of working in such an amazing community with amazing people, it has made me feel like I have an obligation to the young athletes of this town to set them up for success the best I can
