Description of the Organization
Johnson Controls was a great experience for a Co-op/intern. You get treated like an actual employee with responsibilities rather than a student that gets to watch without helping.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I learned the specifications for two products that are being released in a future model of a major car brand, and applied that to the testing that was conducted on the software. I automated the testing on certain features to save time on current/future testing on this product and future products similar to it.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained the knowledge of how to operate in a professional environment while having responsibilities and deadlines that are very important to be met. I learned the process that a product goes through before being released to the customer for mass production and how it is very important to not skip any steps.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this co-op experience was my community involvement as a co-op in Johnson Controls. They gave the co-ops/interns the opportunity to volunteer in two events that helped less fortunate individuals. It was very pleasing to know that the company I work for cares about the community as a whole.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience really helped me learn what to expect in the future after graduating. It taught me to do my best in every task no matter how small it was.
