Description of the Organization
ODL is a manufacturing company that is hard working and dedicated to serving their building product customers. They make and design door glass and blind between glass products. They are mainly a manufacturing/ mechanical engineering company but are currently starting to get into electrical work.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
While at ODL I was able to design and help use a force/position tester. I was the one that made the software for the tests and helped pick the hardware. I also established Altium at ODL and was able to start designing PCBs for ODL. I was also able to make different test codes and data analysis for the different tests we were running.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
While at ODL I learned about how business correlates too Engineering in a very different light. I was also able to better my skills in coding and PCB design. I was also able to learn proper techniques in leading and running a project, while making a new test system for them.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of working at ODL was the caring community that they have there. It was very social and felt well connected between coworkers. I have worked in other places that do not feel connected and I must say I enjoyed that connection at ODL.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has made me realize that I love being an Electrical Engineer. I thought computer engineering might of been my style but I have enjoyed all the different coding and wiring that I have been doing at ODL. Working there has also showed me that getting a general Electrical Engineering degree would be better than a Biomedical Electrical Engineering degree.
