Experience Information

Employer: Array of Engineers
Job Title: Computer engineering intern
Major: Computer Engineering
Received Credit: Yes

Description of the Organization

Array of Engineers is a small company with a lot of high profile clients in vast fields including medical, defense, aerospace, space (NASA), and regular IOT (internet of things). A lot of what goes on at AOE is being able to automate testing with the company designed ATC to make testing processes a lot less time consuming and a lot less difficult.

Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

I've completed 4 model validation files for a certain project which was part of the DoD (can't go too deep into it,CUI data), and the main purpose of those projects were to make sure that the simulated hardware that were created to test the actual hardware we had on hand were working correctly so that we could automate the testing with the company's ATC.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

I learned a lot of skills for debugging mainly. I also got to be exposed to using github repositories which would show how developers push updates to a mainframe where all developers can access and work on a project/workspace.

Favorite Part of the Experience

My favorite part of this CO-OP was being able to work with people in the industry at sort of an equal footing? Like I was treated as a coworker more-so than a student, even though I was still learning a lot. I also really liked learning the software that went into doing automation for the testing.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

This has made me want to work a lot harder and ensure I can have a return offer to work on a lot more projects at AOE to automate testing. I really enjoyed the efficiency that happens
