Description: Sports Performance/Strength & Conditioning Coach

Sports Performance Specialists monitor the effects of physical activity and prescribe exercise programs.  They can conduct and interpret the results of various physiological tests such as VO2 (aerobic capacity), power performance, functional testing as well as teach corrective exercise techniques.

Strength & Conditioning coaches primarily work with athletes to improve their fitness and performance.   Strength & Conditioning coaches may work in high-school, college, or professional setting. New fields in tactical performance (firefighting, military, law enforcement)

 

Credentials

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science (minumum)

Master's degree in Exercise Physiology (desirable)

 

CERTIFICATIONS:

Active CPR Certification

NSCA – Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

NSCA Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator

USAW Level 1
