Biomechanics

Biomechanics is a multi-disciplinary field that studies the mechanical laws related to movement. Biomechanists may work in a clinical gait lab, perform sport analysis to prevent injury and improve performance, conduct research & create new products (shoes, equipment), or teach at a University in Exercise Science, Engineering, or Physical Therapy program. Biomechanists may come from an Engineering, or Exercise Science background. Typical skills needed include: utilize lab instrumentation, work with teams of professionals, conduct reliable procedures for analysis, learn new technology, maintain current knowledge in literature, and educate others.
