Pianist Dr. Clara Christian is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Piano at College of the Ozarks (Point Lookout, MO). Her students have won state and national awards, been accepted into graduate programs, and gone on to pursue a variety of careers. Prior to CofO, she taught at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Northwestern University's Music Academy (Evanston, IL).
Dr. Christian has performed at venues such as the Chicago Cultural Center and performed abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia and Strasbourg, France. She received her D.M.A in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at Northwestern University with Alan Chow, an M.M. with Ellen Mack at the Peabody Institute (Baltimore, MD), and a B.M. in Piano Performance is from Wheaton College with Daniel Horn.
Recent performances include the Franz Liszt Festival and International Competition, guest artist concerts at universities throughout the U.S., and a solo appearance with the Missouri Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to solo performances, she is a frequent collaborative artist and has given several premieres with Fuse Trio, which formed in 2014. For more information, visit www.clarachristian.com.
