Faculty Workload: Policies, Myths, and Realities

The AAUP Advocacy Chapter at GVSU started in 2020 in response to concerns around workload and working conditions. An AAUP@GVSU survey in 2024 showed that workload is still a top concern!

In this event, our colleagues share experiences with changing workload in their units and colleges. Is faculty workload currently reasonable and manageable?  Is there “invisible” work or inequalities that our official job expectations do not consider? Are there solutions to workload problems that would improve the teaching and learning environment for everyone?  You will have an opportunity to share your perspective in an open forum. Join this important discussion with colleagues from across the university to develop solutions that benefit us all!
