Please be aware that the program requires a significant time commitment, especially during the Fall and Winter semesters when students are engaged in full-time graduate studies and clinical field experience requirements. GVSU asks that applicants carefully consider whether they can fully dedicate themselves to the GTC program. We encourage you to reflect on your commitments and plan ahead to set yourself up for success.
Outside Activities: During the clinical field experience placements, Teacher Candidates are strongly discouraged from taking on outside employment or enrolling in additional coursework (other than what's required for the GTC Cohort). Any extra responsibilities - such as after-school coaching or part-time work - must not conflict with coursework or teaching duties.
