JESSICA JENNRICH, PH.D., DIRECTOR and INCLUSION AND EQUITY SOCIAL JUSTICE PROJECT SPECIALIST 

Jessica Jennrich (she/her/hers) works at Grand Valley State University as the Director of the Center for Women and Gender Equity and as an adjunct faculty member in Education.  She is currently involved in a number of higher education and feminist organizations and is a reviewer for The Diversity and Higher Education Journal.  Jessica is a former grant partner and guest writer for the American Association for University Women policy magazine.  Jessica’s writing has been published in the Journal Progressive Policy and Practice, The National Women's Studies Journal, the Journal of the Motherhood Initiative for Research and Community Involvement, Paradigm Magazine, Demeter Press, Contemporary Philosophical Proposals for the University, and College Women’s and Gender Equity Gender Equity Centers”. Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree at Bowling Green State University in English, her master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in Women’s and Gender Studies, and her doctorate at the University of Missouri in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.

Sharalle Arnold, M.Ed.

SHARALLE ARNOLD, M.ED, ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

Sharalle Arnold (she/her/hers) received her B.A. from California State University, Chico in Liberal Studies and her M.Ed. from Washington State University. She is a California native, who has been in Michigan for several years working and raising her family. Prior to joining the Center for Women & Gender Equity, Sharalle served in a leadership capacity at the GVSU Children’s Enrichment Center for more than 10 years. On campus, Sharalle has served as the chair for the Women's Commission, acts as an Inclusion Advocate, is a member of Positive Black Women and is a NIARA mentor.  Her research and personal passion center the experiences of African American/Black females in leadership at PWIs along with food insecurity on campus and pregnant/parenting college student success.

ALEX MONTGOMERY, MPP(WGS), ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Alex Montgomery (they/them/theirs) serves the Grand Valley State community as the Assistant Director for the Gayle R. Davis Center for Women and Gender Equity (CWGE). They also serve as Director of the Gender Justice House (GJH) Living Learning Community. Prior to joining GVSU, they received their B.A. from Butler University as a Spanish and Communications double major with a focus on Recording Arts. Recently, they completed master-level programs at Brandeis University in public policy and intersectional women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. While at Brandeis, Alex was named an Eli J. and Phyllis N. Segal Citizen Leadership Program Fellow, an honor earned for a lifetime commitment to the pursuit of social justice. Academically, Alex’s scholarship deconstructs how systems of power, privilege, and oppression affect the performances of race and gender. Professionally, they supervise the CWGE Ambassador program, co-lead the Niara program within Laker Connections, organize the annual Girls of Color Summit, and coordinate recurring CWGE and GJH events. Off campus, Alex enjoys all things musically inclined, investigating new modes of physical and mental fitness, and exploring all that West Michigan has to offer.

Krystal Diel, LLMSW

KRYSTAL DIEL, LLMSW, VICTIM ADVOCATE

Krystal (she/her/hers) received her Bachelor of Social Work from Central Michigan University and her Master of Social Work at Grand Valley State University. Her role as the Victim Advocate is to support victim/survivors of gender-based violence and connect them to the resources that they may need. She has been a volunteer advocate at the YWCA West Central Michigan in Grand Rapids, MI and Sexual Aggression Peer Advocates in Mount Pleasant, MI and has clinical experience working with children who have experienced sexual abuse.

Jessica R. Campbell, MSW

JESSICA R. CAMPBELL (JC), LMSW, PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Jessica Campbell (she/her/hers) is the Independent Living Skills Coach for CWGE’s new Fostering Laker Success Program. She works with youth who have experienced foster care that currently attend Grand Valley State University. She received her bachelors in Nonprofit Management and Public Administration from Grand Valley. She completed her Master in Social Work at Eastern Michigan University. She is a part of several NASPA knowledge communities and serves as a Niara mentor.

Kellie

KELLIE ZACHMAN, M.ED, VIOLENCE PREVENTION EDUCATION COORDINATOR

Kellie Zachman (she/her/hers) serves as Violence Prevention and Education Coordinator for the GVSU community. In this role, Kellie presents trainings and programming on the prevention of sexual assault, stalking, dating/domestic violence, and other sexual violence issues. Kellie received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Women & Gender Studies from GVSU in 2013, and then her Master of Higher Education- College Student Affairs Leadership from GVSU in 2015. Kellie has served as a Volunteer Advocate at the YWCA West Central Michigan, and prior to this position, worked for a number of years in Housing and Residence Life at GVSU.

Darrhonda Scott-Jones

DARRHONDA SCOTT-JONES, OFFICE COORDINATOR

Darrhonda received her B.S. in Business Administration from Ferris State University and has worked in the Center for Women and Gender Equity since 2004. In her role as the Administrative Assistant, she oversees all the daily functions of the Center for Women and Gender Equity and supervises the student staff. She also serves as the assistant to the director of the Center for Women and Gender Equity and works closely with the Associate Director on Replenish. One of the things that Darrhonda loves most about her job is working with such an amazing staff and experiencing the compassion that they have for the work they all do for the students.

DAMARIS CROCKER DE RUITER, GRADUATE ASSISTANT

Damaris (she/her/hers) is a second-year graduate student in the Higher Education and College Student Affairs Leadership program at GVSU. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Intercultural Studies from Kuyper College in 2017. In her role as a graduate assistant in the Center for Women and Gender Equity, Damaris helps facilitate both the Days of Service and Ambassadors programs. She also provides support with general programming, including Talkback Tuesday’s and Feminist Film Friday’s. In her free time, Damaris enjoys hiking, baking, traveling, and getting involved in various volunteer opportunities in Grand Rapids.

CAITLYN CUBBERLY, CAMPUS SEXUAL ASSAULT GRADUATE ASSISTANT

Caitlyn Cubberly (she/her/hers) graduated with her Bachelor of Science from GVSU in 2018, double majoring in Public and Nonprofit Administration with an emphasis in Community Development Planning and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is currently a second-year graduate student at GVSU in the Master of Social Work program. For her fieldwork, she currently serves as the MSW Trauma Therapy Intern at Resilience: Advocates for Ending Violence and provides therapy for children and adults who have been exposed to sexual and domestic violence. In her role, she oversees the Peer Educators in the Peer Education and Prevention Program known as P.E.P.Talks. P.E.P. Talks is a 90 minute program that teaches undergraduate students on how to be active bystanders on and off campus in situations of sexual and domestic violence. In her free time, she loves traveling and spending time with her dogs, Jax and Gemma.
