About
Gretchen joined the CSO in November 2023 as the Deputy Director for School Accountability. Prior to starting with GVSU, Gretchen was a founding member of the Covenant Academies Foundation and spent 10 years helping launch and manage 3 charter schools. In this role she was responsible for fiscal management, human resources, compliance, transparency, board support, and marketing.
In addition, Gretchen has devoted much of her career to working with and advocating for at-risk youth. Her background includes experience in workforce development, community relations, and congressional advocacy. She also taught high school social studies and served 7 years as a legislative assistant for members of the Michigan Legislature.
