CSO part of new GVSU division
September 01, 2025
The CSO has a new home at GVSU.
Entering the 2025-26 school year, the CSO is now part of the newly-created Division of K-12 Education Innovation and Scholar Success (DEISS). The division officially unites the CSO with two other entities -- the NextEd Co-Lab and the Thompsons Scholarships team -- that were already supporting GVSU charter public schools and students. The shift will allow the division to expand and improve its collective work through the sharing of resources and streamlined collaboration amongst team members.
The DEISS aims to strategically connects learners, education practitioners, and community members with GVSU to create equitable educational pathways, strengthen educational outcomes, inspire innovation, and foster lifelong achievement.
Looking ahead, this shift should not create any disruptions for the the schools and people the CSO serves. GVSU's charter public school communities will still be held to the same expectations in the charter contract and interact with GVSU representatives. Updates on the reorganization and rebranding will be provided frequently to ensure stakeholders are informed (and reminded of) any changes that stem from realignment.
The CSO expects all rebranding to be complete by January 1, 2026.
