Grand Valley State University & Ferris State University PharmD Guaranteed Early Admissions Program

Grand Valley State University and Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy (FSU-COP) offers a partnership for students preparing for a career in pharmacy.  Through the PharmD Guaranteed Early Admissions Program (GEAP), FSU-COP will reserve up to ten (10) seats annually in its four-year PharmD doctoral program for Grand Valley State University students who complete a rigorous undergraduate program of prepharmacy coursework and engage in professional development through campus, clinical and community service activities.  There are two pathways available to gain entry to this program which are described below.

Phase I Eligibility Criteria (for incoming first year/freshman)

  • Incoming freshman to Grand Valley State University, must apply for admission to GVSU before December 31 of senior year in high school
  • Cumulative high school GPA of a 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)

Phase II Eligibility Criteria (for current juniors/seniors)

  • Current junior at Grand Valley State University with 70 completed college credits
  • Math/Science prerequisite GPA of 3.3 or higher
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Timeline for Phase I

  • January 9, 2024 at 7:00pm EST - Virtual Information Session with GVSU and FSU-COP.  Please submit RSVP here.
  • February 1, 2024 – Deadline for GEAP applications.
  • February 2024 – Grand Valley State University and Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy review all GEAP applications.
  • March 2024 – GEAP applicants will be notified of their endorsement status.  
  • May 1, 2024 – Applicants must respond to offer of admission.  
  • Summer 2024 – Attend GVSU New Student Orientation.

Timeline for Phase II

  • November 2023 – Applications for the GEAP program open.
  • December 4, 2023 at 7pm -  Virtual Information Session with GVSU and FSU-COP.  Please submit RSVP here.
  • December/January - Utilize GVSU Career Center for interview preparation.
  • February 1, 2024 – Deadline for GEAP applications.
  • February 2024 – Grand Valley State University and Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy review all GEAP applications.
  • Early March 2024 – GEAP applicants will be notified of their endorsement status.  If endorsed, applicants must submit the PharmCAS application and pay the $175 application fee in PharmCAS by Friday, March 15.
  • Late March/Early April 2024 – Once Ferris receives a verified PharmCAS application for an endorsed GEAP applicant, they will invite for an upcoming Interview.  Interviews will be conducted with Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy in Big Rapids.   
  • April/May 2024 – Interviewees will be notified of their acceptance into Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy.  Accepted offers of admission will be deferred to 2025.
  • August 2025 – GEAP applicants begin the PharmD program at Ferris State University.
