Grand Valley State University & Ferris State University PharmD Guaranteed Early Admissions Program

Grand Valley State University and Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy (FSU-COP) are pleased to announce a new partnership for students preparing for a career in pharmacy.  Through the PharmD Guaranteed Early Admissions Program (GEAP), FSU-COP will reserve up to ten (10) seats annually in its four-year PharmD doctoral program for Grand Valley State University students who complete a rigorous undergraduate program of prepharmacy coursework and engage in professional development through campus, clinical and community service activities.  There are two pathways available to gain entry to this program which are described below.

Phase I Eligibility Criteria (for incoming first year/freshman)

  • Incoming freshman to Grand Valley State University, must apply for admission to GVSU before December 31 of senior year in high school
  • Cumulative high school GPA of a 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Score a minimum of 25 of the ACT or 1150 on the SAT (Waived for 2022 applications)

Phase II Eligibility Criteria (for current juniors/seniors)

  • Current junior at Grand Valley State University with 70 completed college credits
  • Math/Science prerequisite GPA of 3.3 or higher
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Phase I Application Information (for incoming first year/freshman)

This application cycle closed on February 2, 2022. The application cycle will open in September 2022.

Applicants will be notified in March 2022 of their acceptance into the program.

Timeline for Phase I

  • February 1, 2022 – Deadline for GEAP applications.
  • February 2022 – Grand Valley State University and Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy review all GEAP applications.
  • March 2022 – GEAP applicants will be notified of their endorsement status.  
  • May 1, 2022 – Applicants must respond to offer of admission.  
  • Summer 2022 – Attend GVSU First Year Advising & Registration session.

Phase II Application Information (for current GV juniors/seniors)

This application cycle closed on February 2, 2022. The application cycle will open again in November 2022.

Applicants will be notified in March 2022 of their acceptance into the program.

Timeline for Phase II

  • November 2021 – Applications for the GEAP program open.
  • February 1, 2022 – Deadline for GEAP applications.
  • February 2022 – Grand Valley State University and Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy review all GEAP applications.
  • Early March 2022 – GEAP applicants will be notified of their endorsement status.  If endorsed, applicants must submit the PharmCAS application and pay the $175 application fee in PharmCAS by Friday, March 11.
  • March 15 & 16, 2022 - CLAS Advising's Mock Multiple Mini Interview program.
  • Late March/Early April 2022 – Once Ferris receives a verified PharmCAS application for an endorsed GEAP applicant, they will invite for an upcoming Interviews.  Interviews will be conducted with Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy.  All interviews are being conducted virtually.  
  • April/May 2022 – Interviewees will be notified of their acceptance into Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy.  Accepted offers of admission will be deferred to 2023.
  • August 2023 – GEAP applicants begin the PharmD program at Ferris State University.
