Grand Valley student to represent Michigan in national program

Elizabeth Kebler, a senior majoring in advertising and public relations, has been chosen to represent the state of Michigan as a Cherry Blossom Princess in the 71st National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C.
The Cherry Blossom Princess Program is a cultural, educational and professional development program.
Throughout the week-long program, princesses visit with international leaders, attend a congressional reception and other events in celebration of the relationship between the U.S. and Japan.
At the end of the week, a princess is chosen at random to be the new U.S. Cherry Blossom Queen and travel to Japan on a goodwill trip.
Kebler, who has interned in Washington, D.C. and for U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-Zeeland), said the program is a great way for her to finish her undergraduate career.
“I’m so excited for the experience and opportunity to represent Michigan,” she said.
