Bio
Misti’s professional background is in American Sign Language interpreting. She has been nationally credentialed since 2001 and has experience in multiple interpreting settings. Prior to establishing the American Sign Language course offerings at Grand Valley, she created a similar program at Muskegon Community College. Misti has earned undergraduate degrees in ASL interpreting from Lansing Community College and Sienna Heights University, and a master's in psychology from Capella University.

Professional Interests
Misti is interested in both the pedagogy of, and the psychological processes of second language American Sign Language learners.
