Katie Aurand is a faculty member in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies, where she teaches evidence-based medicine and clinical medicine. Her clinical background is in trauma and surgical critical care. Her scholarly interests include the development of systematic approaches to mitigate provider burnout and enhance clinician wellbeing, as well as advancing the medical care of female athlete across the lifespan. She also competes as a professional long-course triathlete.
Professional Interests
Developing and evaluating hospital - based initiatives aimed at reducing provider burnout and promoting workforce resilience. Optimizing healthcare strategies for female athletes during critical life stages such as puberty, pregnancy, and menopause to support lifelong athletic participation and performance.
