Dr. Kathryn (Katie) Barnhart is an Associate Professor for the Master of Public Health program. Dr. Barnhart has previous practical experience in public health program planning, implementation, and evaluation. She incorporates engaged learning in the classroom and emphasizes critical thinking. Her research includes both qualitative and quantitative studies on a variety of interdisciplinary health topics. She actively collaborates with local organizations to conduct applied research.
Professional Interests
My current areas of interest include: community-engaged learning; multi-methods, mixed methods research; interpersonal and social influences on sexual and drug use behaviors; reducing health disparities within communities.
