Wil A. Rankinen, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Undergraduate Program Director in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Grand Valley State University. His research focuses on sociolinguistics and phonetics, with an emphasis on sociolinguistic and sociophonetic variation in Michigan Englishes. He teaches courses in phonetics, speech science, and research methods, and his work appears in American Speech and Language Variation and Change.

My research focuses on speech science, phonetics, and regional variation in Michigan Englishes. I teach courses in phonetics, speech science, communication development, and research methods.
