Bio
Dr. Smart has published in multiple journals and presented her work both nationally and internationally. Her current research is focused on improving healthcare access for underserved populations and the rehabilitation of children with auditory processing disorder. Her dedication to community service with underserved populations has been recognized with numerous awards, including the 2024 Outstanding Service Award from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.

Professional Interests
Dr. Smart specializes in pediatrics and medical pathologies related to the auditory system. Her research is focused on access to care for marginalized populations and rehabilitation of people with listening difficulties (or auditory processing disorder).
