Dr. Cleghorn has 35 years of experience in occupational therapy settings including: skilled nursing facilities, schools, and home healthcare. She is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice, and member of the Michigan State Advisory Council on Aging. Dr. Cleghorn was awarded the Pew Teaching Award for Outstanding University Educator in 2017. She teaches courses in Older Adult Practice, DrOT Capstone, Health Policy, Culture, and Critical Thinking.
Professional Interests
Research interests include Aging in Place, Home Modifications, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Use of Sensory Spaces, OT Education, Use of Simulation in Education, OT Assessment, Health Promotion and Wellness among Older Adults, and International Health and Wellbeing of Older Adults.
