START Project

Attendance and completion of all required components are important to ensure applicants are prepared to become EPLI Trainers of START Content. Requirements include two virtual training series, self-paced coursework, and in-person Bootcamp modules. 

Behavior Series Attendance

• Participants must attend Modules 1–4 of the five-module Behavior Series. These modules are offered as virtual, half-day sessions. Live attendance is strongly preferred, but up to two sessions may be completed via video recording if necessary. 

Instructional Strategies & Academic Engagement Series Attendance

• Participants must attend all four modules of the Instructional Strategies & Academic Engagement (ISAE) Series. These modules are offered as virtual, half-day sessions. Live attendance is strongly preferred, but up to two sessions may be completed via video recording if necessary. 

FAPE in the LRE Attendance

• Participants must attend one virtual, half-day FAPE in the LRE session.

Asynchronous Coursework

• Participants must complete all required self-paced, asynchronous coursework.

Training and Coaching Module Attendance

• Attendance at all three full-day, in-person Essential Foundations Training and Coaching modules is required. If you know in advance that you will be unable to attend one or more of these modules, plan to participate in the following year’s Essential Foundations EPLI Bootcamp.

Missed Bootcamp Modules

• If an exceptional circumstance prevents you from attending a Bootcamp module, we will work with you to determine whether and how the missed module can be made up during the current school year.
• If you miss one Bootcamp module for a reason that is not considered an exceptional circumstance, you may continue participating in the Bootcamp and make up the missed module by attending the same module the following year. You cannot become an EPLI Trainer of START Content until all required modules have been completed.
• If you miss more than one Bootcamp module for reasons that are not considered exceptional circumstances, you will need to pause your Bootcamp participation for the current school year and return the following year to complete the Essential Foundations EPLI Bootcamp
