Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
About:
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a primary avenue of communication between student-athletes, the institution, and the athletics administration. The SAAC provides a forum in which student-athletes and Athletic Department leadership can openly discuss issues relevant to intercollegiate athletics including student-athlete welfare.
Mission Statement:
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is an organization of student-athletes from all varsity teams at GVSU. The goal of the committee is to inform all student-athletes, through their team representatives, of what is going on in the athletic department as well as campus-wide issues that directly affect student-athletes.
Purpose:
The purpose of this organization shall be:
1. To generate a student‐athlete voice within the institution.
2. To solicit student‐athlete responses to proposed NCAA legislation.
3. To suggest potential NCAA legislation.
4. To organize community service efforts.
5. To create a vehicle for student-athlete representation on campus, within our athletic conference, and nationally.
