The Grand Valley State University Counseling Center is a free, confidential service commited to suporting the well-bring and mental health of the GVSU community through prevention, education, and couseling.

To enhance the well-being of our diverse GVSU community through mental health services, including prevention, education, and counseling. 

What the Counseling Center Offers:

  • Short-term individual counseling sessions for currently enrolled student and student-athletes.
  • Unlimited group counseling and supprt groups
  • Crisis and emergency services, including urgent care couseling during business hours and after hours support 
  • Outreach initiatives, workshops, seminars, and self-help resources
  • Referral and consultation services- when longer-term or specialized care is needed, the Center helps connect students with community providers
  • Specialized services such as support for substance use and harm reduction via their Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) program
