Print and Drawing Cabinet: Alexander Florensky and Olga Florenskaya
Alexander Florensky and Olga Florenskaya are Russian painters, graphic artists, illustrators, and sculptors. As a couple, Alexander and Olga frequently collaborate on large-scale artistic and multimedia projects, often drawing on Russian and Georgian cultural themes and folk aesthetics.
In 2001, the Grand Valley State University Art Museum hosted an exhibition titled "Olga and Alexander Florensky: Miscellaneous," which featured their collaborative work and represented the artists’ unique sensibilities regarding the act of collecting. The projects created a unified artistic environment by combining text, drawing, photography, sculpture, printmaking, sound, film, etc. It crossed many boundaries and expresses their experiences of the contemporary Russian milieu.
