Lori McElrath-Eslick
b. 1960
Local Michigan artist Lori McElrath-Eslick is an illustrator of children's books, magazines, and greeting cards. She graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design with a degree in illustration. She frequently exhibits her artwork both nationally and locally in Michigan, including ArtPrize in Grand Rapids. McElrath- Eslick loves nature and can be found painting en plein air, or painting outdoors, in some of her favorite Michigan locations.
The GVSU Art Museum Collection features several examples of McElrath-Eslick’s original artworks that have been published in children’s books. Represented books include Da Wei’s Treasure, Read for Me Mama, and Mommy Poems. Many of her children’s book illustrations focus on children learning skills and life lessons from adults.
