Development
ONGOING DEVELOPMENT
New features and enhancements are currently under development, including QR scanning, tablet optimization, and the ability for faculty and students to submit their own contributions. The app was built by the GVSU Mobile Applications Service Lab in the School of Computing and Informations Systems by utilizing the Art Gallery's online collection database. This app's framework will eventually be made available open source for other institutions using Collective Access.
FUTURE PLANS
The GVSU Art Gallery is seeking ongoing grant support for this project. The end result is a participatory mobile application platform that more acutely meets current interdisciplinary learning and engagement trends, and which promotes a sustainable and flexible model moving forward for not only institutional use, but also for nation-wide open source adoption.
