Welcome to the Grand Valley State University Physician Assistant Studies (GVSU PAS) homepage! We are excited that you are interested in our program!
The GVSU PAS program was established in 1995 and has since graduated over 520 physician assistants. The mission of the PAS program is to educate individuals to become competent Physician Assistants, who possess the skills necessary for interprofessional medical practice.
The GVSU PAS faculty are experienced educators and clinicians that are dedicated to the success of the student. The faculty come from a wide variety of backgrounds, providing a well-rounded, comprehensive education.
The Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences is home to the PAS department and holds a number of other health care professional programs. This state of the art facility includes a large practice laboratory dedicated to teaching history, physical exam and procedural skills as well as a comprehensive simulation suite. This suite includes a simulated hospital including a critical care suite and 8 room primary care suite. These rooms are utilized right from the beginning of the education allowing to apply the classroom material immediately in a clinical context.
GVSU PAS students come from diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn the art as well as the science of the practice of medicine. Through work in interprofessional educational experiences with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Pharmacy students to name just a few, PAS students get a chance to learn with and about a number of different health professions.
We are dedicated to the team based approach to health care and believe that it starts at the educational level.
Thank you again, for visiting our website. We encourage you to look around and see what our program has to offer and we look forward to hearing from you!
