Summer Program
The GVSU TRIO Upward Bound Program has a 6-week, summer residential component where the students reside on GVSU's Allendale Campus during the months of June and July with other UB students.
During the summer, students live in an environment much like the one they will experience when they are in college. Students take classes, complete internships, and attend trips that are educational in nature.
To be eligible, students must have participated in the TRIO UB academic year component.
Community Involvement
Volunteering in the Community
Volunteering is a requirement for GVSU TRIO UB students, which creates a sense of social responsibility and commitment to community. TRIO UB organizes group volunteer opportunities at least once a month, but students are also encouraged to participate in additional volunteering on their own.
Community involvement may open doors for future connections, internships, and job opportunities. It also reflects favorably on college and scholarship applications
