CHILE: TRIO (CHE GUEVARA, REVOLUTION & THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES)

Follow the journey of revolutionary leader Che Guevara through Latin America in his memoir, The Motorcycle Diaries. Through field trips and discussion, students will explore the question: “What does it mean to be American?" Students will explore the city of Chillán, Chile, with its vibrant central square and vast open-air market, and connect with students from GVSU's partner university, Universidad del Bío-Bío. The group will take a trip to the Andes Mountains, where students will have a chance to relax in hot springs, hike to some incredible views of the Andes, and experience the kind of Chilean hospitality that Che Guevara described during his time in the mountains.

TRIO staff will be co-directing this program.
