Research collaborations are an opportunity for industry to engage with university researchers at very early stages of discovery. GVSU structures these collaborations to ensure reciprocity and that research objectives are mutually beneficial to advancing the intellectual pursuit of the research, and the market demands of industry.

GVSU has incredible capabilities in support of the mission to prepare talent. This includes trained personnel and tools in multiple disciplines from the Arts to scientific testing. 

The Service Agreement is designed to establish the terms for the University to provide cost-effective services to businesses. The results of the work from the service agreement will belong to the contracting organization.

Grand Rapids Business Incubation Hub:

GVSU has available, for lease, high tech incubator and co-working space located in the Grand Rapids Smartzone. The space is available to support the earliest of start-ups to emerging companies with low-cost laboratory, office and conference space, high quality scientific equipment and expertise, and a wide range of support services.

Muskegon Business Incubation Hub:

Established by the City of Muskegon, Grand Valley State University, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the Muskegon Innovation Hub (the Hub) is located in one of the state’s first SmartZones. While our original focus was clean energy technology, we have broadened our horizons to target companies centered on innovation. Our goal is to be a key partner in the region’s economic development ecosystem, supporting startup businesses, entrepreneurs, and corporate innovation teams.
