Statistics Career Day 2025

Virtual Presentation Videos

Stats Career Day included three virtual presentations over Zoom.  Luckily, we were able to record them!

Eric Nantz, Eli Lilly and Company: How Open-Source has Revolutionized Life Sciences

Yeni Nieves-Malloure, Premier Research: A Biostatistician's Journey in the CRO Industry

Lisa Bramer, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory: Applied Statistics and Machine Learning at a National Lab

Keynote Speaker

Ronald L. Wasserstein

The purpose of the Statistics Career Day event is to inform students about various career opportunities that use statistical methods. The focus is on a career fair, rather than a job fair, in order to attract high school students and entry level undergraduate students. Many attendees ask questions about the types of jobs that are available for a student that graduates with a statistics degree. The event helps answer such questions.

The key note speaker is Ronald  Wasserstein, Executive Director of American Statistical Association (ASA)Ronald L. Wasserstein: What Professional Organizations Can Do To Fix The Irreproducibility Crisis. The Statistics Department will host Statistics Career Day on Monday, November 17, 2025, on Grand Valley’s campus in Allendale, MI.
