Faculty Partner Expectations

students and faculty talking

Relationships within the Student Success Network (SSN) will take different forms. They will be as unique and varied as the personalities and stories of each student within the program. Regardless, the relationship will require active listening and assessment to assist the student with achieving their goals. It may be as an advocate, role model, or coach. Students should trust their partner and feel safe to share openly and honestly. This is the core of building a constructive relationship with the student.

  • Yearly commitment to serve as a mentor within the SSN
  • Regularly reach out to students via email or other media to connect and share resources for their success (materials to be provided)
  • Meet with first-year students throughout the semester at the discretion of the faculty partner
  • Attend faculty training sessions for the SSN (2) throughout the year
