This program is coordinated by the Office for Community Partnerships and Student Professional Development and was developed based on the Semester in Detroit model at the University of Michigan.
Semester in Grand Rapids (SIGR) is an exciting opportunity to deeply engage with the community of Grand Rapids. In this immersive program, you live in the city, take classes about the city, and do an internship at a community-based organization. Earn 9 undergraduate credits including an internship, SWS, U.S. Diversity, and two Issues courses.
Apply now to join the first Semester in Grand Rapids cohort! You will be directed to an external website (Qualtrics) to fill out the application form. SIGR is open to all students! Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the cohort is full. For priority consideration, please apply by January 11.
