Energizing Our World

COVID - 19 Update

Our mission is to nurture young minds in a safe and fun environment. Currently, we are NOT planning to run our Summer 2020 camp in-person. We are carefully monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and following guidance from GVSU and health officials and will be exploring remote options. For any questions, please email Chelsea Ridge at [email protected].

Energizing Our World is a four-day camp designed to spark interest in renewable energy.

Student Career Fair

48 students participate in a large group introduction followed by breakout sessions providing them with hands-on opportunities to interact with a variety of renewable energy sources including: solar, wind, and hydro power energy.  Students will also have the opportunity to participate in an off-site field trip.

Campers will be divided between 6 counselors, giving each counselor a responsibility of 8 campers. The camp is held at the GVSU Allendale Campus.

A $500 stipend will be given to counselors for a 5 day commitment (June 15 - 18, 2020 with a training day on June 12).

*Note: The application period for this season has closed. Please check back in Fall 2020.

Student Project Displays and Career Fair

During EOW, students get the opportunity to engage with members of the community regarding their sustainable and renewable resource practices, learning about different careers that are available within the field, and practice presenting their projects to a live audience! Students also have the opportunity to win a prize by participating in a scavenger hunt, take-home activity relating to renewable sources with an overarching question they work collaboratively to solve.
