Student or Visitor Injuries
- In case of an emergency, dial 911
- If the injured person is unable to transport him or herself for treatment, phone the GVSU Police at (616) 331-3255 or Pew Campus Security (616) 331-6677 for on-site assistance. Faculty and staff members should NOT attempt to transport the injured person.
- Although you should always seek medical attention at a location where you feel comfortable, in Allendale, Metro Health does provide an option, with a Health Center conveniently located on campus. Their address is 10383 42nd Ave., Suite A. Additional information including hours, services provided, insurance requirements, etc can be found at the Health Center's website located here.
- Please be aware that the University's insurance programs do not cover injury or illness sustained by students or visitors, even if the injury or illness is a result of an educational opportunity, a sponsored activity, or other incidents that occur either on or off campus. The injured party should submit related medical bills to his/her own insurance company for coverage. Faculty and staff can not promise that bills will be paid by the University.
