Description
House Without Roof (Haus Ohne Dach) (Iraq (Kurdistan)/Germany/Qatar) is a 2017 film directed and written by Soleen Yusef. The journey of siblings Liya, Jan, and Alan who were born in the Kurdish area of Iraq and grew up in Germany. The three of them want to fulfill their mother`s last wish to bury her in her home village beside her husband who got killed in the war under the Saddam Hussein regime.
This program is free and open to the public and begins at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 11 in the UICA theater.
A panel discussion with a film scholar and history/cultural representative takes place after the film viewing, followed by a reception with complimentary food and beverages reflecting the regional cuisine of the film's origin.
