GVSU policy requires all faculty and staff to get approval from their Dean or Appointing Officer prior to accompanying GVSU students outside the United States whether individually or in groups. The purpose of this policy is to help ensure the safety of the students, as well as to help protect the university and employees from additional liability risks.
The Padnos International Center strongly encourages faculty to seek teaching opportunities abroad. The following information was designed to address common questions and concerns and to provide resources and ideas for teaching abroad.
Faculty and staff traveling outside of the US are encouraged to visit EducationUSA Advising Centers. EducationUSA advisors are sponsored by the US State Department and promote US higher education in over 150 countries. Faculty and staff are encouraged to set up appointments with the advisors, or arrange meetings with prospective students at the local EducationUSA center. Advising centers welcome visits from colleges and specific information about programs is always appreciated.
If you would like to take Grand Valley materials, please contact Chris Hendree, Associate Director of International Recruitment, (email@example.com).
