Math
For the math concentration, you will take three additional math education courses focused on the teaching and learning of geometry, data analysis & probability, and algebraic thinking. These courses are taught by math education faculty and blend doing, learning, and teaching mathematics. Each course includes guided field experiences with students in upper elementary and/or middle school, where you will have opportunities to grow your confidence in mathematics, deepen your understanding of how students think about mathematics, and practice teaching mathematics and engaging learners in productive mathematical discussions and investigations. Choosing a math concentration positions you to be a leader in mathematics instruction at your future school.
