4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Allendale Campus
Students

This advanced workshop further builds on the fundamental knowledge for climbing outdoors to cover belaying from the top of a climb. While this is not a typical skill you'll not see at sport climbing areas or Grand Ledge, it's a common technique in other single-pitch areas such as Devil's Lake State Park, WI and at ice climbs along the Lake Superior shoreline where the best access is at the top of the climb. Additionally, it's a good gateway skillset for dabbling in multi-pitch climbing. Topics include: Belaying 3 ways & Lowering/ Descending.

It is expected that participants in this course have taken the Top Rope Anchors workshop or be comfortable building sound top-rope anchors. All technical equipment will be provided by the Climbing Center

Cost: $20
