In this FREE program, Outdoor Adventures (OA) takes on students who are looking for an opportunity to develop outdoor leadership skills. No previous experience necessary.

Aspiring trip and activity leaders will be paired with an experienced mentor who will help them explore how to create and facilitate engaging and impactful experiences through adventure-based activities. This program provides important hands-on development for students interested in roles as guides, summer camp leaders, resort programmers and also serves as a possible pathway to employment with OA.

• Currently enrolled as a GVSU student
• Minimum of 2 semesters remaining at GVSU

• 6 week experiential program where mentees will gain experience through active participation, planning, & facilitating various adventure-based experiences.
• General mentee commitment of ~2hrs per week + a 2 day weekend leadership trip.
• Mentees will be provided continuous feedback throughout the program and will receive a formal evaluation upon completion that highlights both leadership strengths and growth opportunities.
