STEM Master Teacher Fellowship
The National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) and the Dow Chemical Company invite teachers to apply to its Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Master Teacher Program. At NMAAHC, STEM Master Teachers act as leaders in the development of STEM content, activities, and workshops for K-12 teachers and students. The STEM Master Teacher Program promotes the museum’s education initiative through the improvement of teaching and learning about African Americans, their STEM contributions to American history and culture, and the STEM principles on which their contributions are based. Two unique opportunities in the STEM Master Teacher Program allow three experienced STEM educators to work with the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) educators for the 2019-2020 school year.
The Master Teachers will be integral members of the NMAAHC Education team as they assist in providing professional development workshops and virtual content to K-12 STEM teachers across the nation. The NMAAHC Master Teachers will develop professional connections with NMAAHC and other Smithsonian Institution staff, participate in Smithsonian specific trainings and activities, and gain access to local STEM professionals and organizations.
The application process is open until October 18, 2019. Click here for an informational flyer.
