Intermediate ROV Workshop (11/1-11/2 in Lansing) - Teachers are introduced to digital ROV components including Arduino processing, joystick controls, and digital sensor technology. The cost to teachers is only $200 and includes all hardware, materials, lunches, and SCECHs (valued at over $1000). Teacher participants should have prior experience building ROVs as preparation for this advanced workshop. Registration Link
Autonomous Kickoff Workshop (10/17 in Ann Arbor) - Building upon a toddler jeep platform, students are introduced to C programming, Python, GPS Technologies, Arduino, and sensor technologies as they re-engineer their jeep to operate autonomously within a connected vehicle theme. Vehicle performance scores are based upon the level of autonomy and complexity of the tasks they are able to achieve, including obstacle avoidance, platooning, and parallel parking. The workshop is free for teachers participating in the IVD Design Challenge and Competition. Registration Link
Masters of Mobility - V2X Connected Vehicle Workshop (10/21-10/22 in Ann Arbor) - Square One's Masters of Mobility Workshop is being generously sponsored by Washtenaw Community College and is open to 6-12th-grade teachers from Monroe, Washtenaw, Livingston, Hillsdale, Lenawee, and Jackson counties. This is a 2 day Arduino focused workshop that includes training, lessons, sensors and a 3D printed robot! Teachers will leave prepared to introduce connected and autonomous vehicle technology to students. The registration fee has been generously supported by WCC, resulting in a cost of only $25 to teachers! This workshop includes equipment, instruction, lessons, lunches, and SCECHs, valued at more than $1,500. Teachers are encouraged (but not required) to bring two lead students to participate alongside. Registration Link
