Fund for Teachers (FFT) awards grants for self-designed summer professional development for teachers to help them grow in and out of the classroom.

Each Fund for Teachers fellowship is as unique as the teacher who designed it, and since 2001, FFT has transformed $32 million of grants into growth for 8,500 teachers and their students (up to $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for teams). FFT fellowships have taken place in 152 countries on every continent, empowering teachers to explore new ideas, new cultures, and new ways to make a difference. 2020 grant applications are due January 31, 2020.

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • A full-time preK-12th grade teacher who spends at least 50% of your time directly providing instruction to students;
  • Returning to the classroom in the consecutive school year; and
  • Have at least three years’ experience as a preK-12th grade teacher at the end of the school year.
    • Student and substitute teaching do not count towards the three-year requirement
