Register for Math in Action 2022

The Math in Action Team is working towards and planning for a safe face-to-face conference experience, and are carefully watching the current COVID-19 surge caused by the Omicron variant. We will assess a variety of options and contingencies for the conference based on GVSU, Ottawa County, MDHHS, and CDC guidelines and recommendations and will publish any changes with as much notice as possible but no later than two weeks before the conference.

Update: As of Friday, February 11, 2022 we are planning to hold the 2022 Math in Action conference in-person as planned.

Registration Categories, Deadlines, and Costs

Math in Action 2022 will be offered in multiple modalities: you can attend this year's conference either in-person or online via Zoom. Please note that not all sessions will be available to online participants. While this format will be new, we are working hard to bring you the same interactive, thoughtful, use-in-your-classroom-tomorrow sessions that you expect. Please see the Schedule and Session Descriptions below for more information.

In-person registration fees include lunch, onsite snacks and drinks, and SCECHs. Online registration fees include SCECHs only.

Early-bird registration ends Thursday, February 10. After that, registration (at a slightly higher rate) is available until Monday February 21st at 5 pm. Online pre-registration will close after that. You can still register in-person when you arrive at Math in Action on February 26, 2022. Please plan to arrive around 8 a.m. to register.

Payment methods: You may pay by check or credit card. You will be sent to a web page with payment options after submitting the registration form.

Auto-fill warning: The auto-fill feature in your web browser may overwrite areas on the registration form. Please double check all fields before you click submit.

No refunds: We are unable to refund conference fees after your payment has been submitted except in extenuating circumstances (e.g. you test positive for COVID or other health and medical reasons).

Contingency Plan: The decision to move Math in Action fully online due to the ongoing pandemic will be made by Friday, February 11. If we need to move the conference online, then we will reimburse you the difference between in-person registration fees and the online participant fee. For example, if you submit a regular registration during the early bird period for $40 and the conference is moved to fully online, then we will reimburse you $30 so that your registration fee agrees with the online early bird rate.

Face Covering Policy: For in-person participants, the need to wear a face covering is tied to the university's alert level system. GVSU's current Alert Level requires face coverings in all indoor spaces. You can read more about the university's face covering policy here.
