Desiree Harrison

Desiree Y. Harrison is an elementary instructional coach for Farmington Public Schools in Michigan, collaborating with teachers to enhance student engagement, learning, and math routines. She served as a board member for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) from 2020 to 2023 and co-authored Classroom-Ready Rich Math Tasks: Engaging Students in Doing Math, Grades 2-3 (2021). Desiree is also a part-time math education professor at Wayne State University and an educational studies doctoral candidate, focusing on preservice teacher agency development. Passionate about elementary mathematics education, she hosts The Kids Math Talk podcast, dedicated to keeping the conversation about mathematics vibrant and positive.
