What to Expect in a Consultation

receptionist

Whether you have made an appointment or are dropping in for a session, the Knowledge Market receptionist will help you get started. Seated underneath the beam that says "Knowledge Market," the receptionist will introduce you to your consultant. Don't worry if you aren't sure which service you need! Just tell the receptionist what you're working on, and we'll find the right consultant to help you.

Consultations are most productive if you

  • Bring your assignment sheet
  • Come prepared with specific questions
  • Leave plenty of time to work on your project before it's due

Consultations are 30-50 minutes long, and the content of every session is different because consultants are focused on your individual needs. Expect a friendly conversation with a highly-trained peer that will end with a plan for improving your project. Feel free to come back with new drafts of your project or more questions!

Classroom Support

Knowledge Market consultants are available to support classroom learning both by individual service and collaboratively through our Knowledge Market Fellows Program. The Knowledge Market Fellows program allows faculty teaching courses involving research, writing, and presentations to invite consultants from services that specialize in those areas to work with their students in the classroom. To request consultants specializing in research, writing, and presentations, please fill out the Knowledge Market Fellows Application linked below.
