"Empowering students to challenge stereotypes about gender and sexuality, to understand feminist and queer perspectives, and to work actively for diverse gender and sexuality justice."

The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) studies minor is an integrative, interdisciplinary program that examines issues and debates about sexuality and gender. Engaging in analysis of the intersections of sexuality and gender with race, class, and national identity, LGBTQ studies equips students with critical thinking, writing, and leadership skills that will prepare them for a wide range of fields.
