Course Overview

Course Description

This session is designed to bridge research and practice: it grounds attendees in neuroscience and theory of attachment, while offering concrete, field-tested strategies they can apply immediately in clinical, educational or caregiving settings.

Objectives:

  1. Describe the core principles of attachment theory and how they inform family therapy practice.
  2. Identify common patterns through which generational trauma is transmitted within family systems.
  3. Recognize trauma-driven behaviors in children through an attachment lens rather than a compliance lens.
  4. Apply the "safe place to land" framework (from speaker's book) to build felt safety with children and caregivers.
  5. Develop practical strategies for engaging caregivers as active partners in a child's healing process.
  6. Reflect on their own professional or systemic blind spots when working with multi-generational trauma.
