For the Employer - Create a Talent Pipeline

Through our strong liberal arts education, Grand Valley graduates are equipped with the foundational human-centered skills, critical analysis competencies, and business acumen required to excel in the technology and innovation industry.

This program will be a collaborative, accelerated work & learning program up to 12 months in length, which will include:

  • Employer-sponsored scholarship to support tuition costs for students
  • A paid on-site internship for a 20-hour/week with your organization
  • Co-curricular cohort focused on vocation, leadership development, financial literacy, and life skills

Employer Financial Model

Beginning in the upcoming academic year, the Talent Link Program will move from a $15,000 per-student model to a $10,000 per-student commitment from employer partners. That amount is now divided into:

  • $8,000 scholarship awarded directly to the student ($4,000/semester)
  • $2,000 infrastructure fee to support Talent Link program operations

College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS)

  • Over 8,400 total students with more than 3,000 students approaching graduation
  • Wide selection of programs, including Communications, Statistics, Biology, Psychology, and English
  • Core preparation for CLAS students includes building a holistic understanding of entry-level skills required in the workforce, emphasizing strong preparation in critical and creative thinking, qualitative analysis, problem-solving, ethical reasoning, and collaborative teamwork

GVSU students reflect our nation's evolving workforce

  • 68 percent of CLAS students identify as female, with nearly 20 percent identifying as students of color, 33 percent as First Generation students, and 34 percent as low-income/Pell Grant-eligible
  • GVSU achieved Gold level status for its support of Veterans, a Five-Star rating for its support of undocumented students, and is one of six institutions to earn the Seal of Excelencia in 2022 from Excelencia in Education
  • In the Fall of 2022, GVSU welcomed the most diverse first-year class in its 62-year history
